In the framework of marking the international campaign of 16 days of activism against gender-based violence, the Agency for Gender Equality of BiH / Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH in cooperation with the Women’s Rights Center Zenica organized a conference titled ” Presentation  in order to create a legislative framework for sanctioning persons who commit criminal offenses through information-communication technologies. ” The conference was held in Sarajevo on December 8, 2017

In 2013, Bosnia and Herzegovina ratified the Council of Europe Convention on Prevention and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (Istanbul Convention), which obliged BiH to take legislative and other measures to secure the legal, institutional and organizational framework for the prevention of violence against women , protection of victims of violence and punishment of perpetrators of violence. The BiH Council of Ministers adopted the Framework Strategy for the Implementation of the Council of Europe Convention on Prevention and Combating Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence in BiH for the period 2015-2017. The Istanbul Convention recognizes violence against women in their members 17 and 34 through modern communication and ICT tools, and calls on Member States to adopt policies aimed at preventing and protecting this form of violence against women.
